What's Cydia? -BEGINNERS-

Cydia is a program in iphone & ipod touch where you can download a number of apps. What is the different between cydia and appstore? We can say briefly that cydia allows you to add some sources that contain cracked apps, while appstore does not provide this. And of course if you want to have cydia on your iphone then it must be jail-broken...

ok lets start...

-As you can see the apps and the products of cydia are in no.1

-In no.2 you can see some apps chosen by cydia

-In no.3 you can find some sources that you may want to download

-No.4 shows you the upgrades for your iphone

Here is an examples for:

Here you can find all cydia’s apps kept in sections like the pic. below:

By clicking on Edit ,which is in the up right, you can simply "show/hide" the sections that you want.

this is an example of how to download an app from cydia :

-1st choose the section that you want. I’ll choose “eBooks”

then click on the app that you wish to download, & I’ll click on “HolyQuran”

- after that click on “install & confirm”

Finally you’ll get your app installed on your home screen

5) Changes

Here you’ll find the available upgrades for your installed apps.

you can upgrade by clicking on “upgrade” on the top right of the changes' screen.

6) Manage

-No.1 shows you the packages you installed

-No.2 gives you list of the sources that you have

-No.3 is for your iphone storage

Finally we have search

It allows you to search for an app by its name

for instance type down “swirlyMMS” in the search bar and you’ll get the app just like the picture below.
